About the event
The Summer Equinox Harvesting Ceremony is a culturally-rooted gathering that seeks to empower Indigenous Women through land-based practices, traditional Teachings, and community connection. This event will provide a sacred space for Women to reconnect with their Spirit, reflect on their Journeys, and engage in Teachings aligned with the Summer Equinox, fostering healing, empowerment, and wellness.
This Ceremony will be held in the Gibsons area, which was a shared homeland between the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and shíshálh Nation (Sechelt Nation). Candace Campo comes from the shíshálh Nation, and Slisia is from the Squamish Nation. A vision of this Ceremony is to bring our Nations together once more and to re-establish our relationships with each other through all the shared Teachings over the few days that we will be spending together. For more context on our historical connections, please refer to this resource: Sunshine Coast Museum - First Nations.
